"...passion to create narrative art.".
L. Michelle Law was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois where her love for architecture and landscape were inspired by long neighborhood walks and Sunday drives with family. Michelle’s early fascination with children’s book illustration and her experience as a staff member at her local library both have fueled her passion to create narrative art. Her drawing style has been strongly influenced by her mother, an accomplished painter and calligrapher, and by the exuberance of her grandmother’s freehand embroidery.

After she graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BA in Studio Art, Michelle spent several years working in department store display, created children’s book illustrations, and had her work appear on a line of greeting cards. Her most recent mixed media work is rendered in colored pencil, acrylic paint, fabric and the occasional flea market find.

Michelle has been involved at Cotuit Center for the Arts on Cape Cod since 2000. She is a gallery curator, art instructor and frequent exhibitor. She has spent many hours on and off stage creating set decoration and costuming for CCftA and at other theaters Cape wide.
